You can't have tenth place, tenth place is mine!

All I have to do is make sure that no more then 9 other people enter besides me...

*Counts pics*

The actual colour seems to be very faint. From what I can tell, it seems to have a subtle tint of blue.

I think the picture you linked to is from an area with heavy lighting, which made the colour of the eyes slightly different.
The eyes only have the blue hue in an environment which is purple/blue, as you can even see by her skin's hue. (Which is a very unatural color for skin) Eyes are very glossy, and therefore will naturally reflect the color of the sky or other large surrounding bodies - gw doesn't quite have the ability to completely render high poly high texture changes like that in the game, cause honestly it'd crash our computers trying to render all of that in real-time, so they just change the texture itself to match the given environment per each instance (portal-zone), thats how you will get the slight variations in color. For the most part though, her eyes are actually as I said before Hazel-Brown. Hazel, to me is a color that looks a lot like green but it is actually a dark shade of yellow and brown being a dark shade of orange. I actually took some screenshots for you, so you can see the actual colors that are in the eyes.

Each pair (left, right) are one set of eyes from different lightings.

Oh, by the way.. I'm not actually going to partake in this. I was thinking about it, just for fun.. But then with a little more thought into it: I don't play gw anymore so the contest prize would be worthless, so that'd leave having fun doing it. Well, at that point I realized that I don't really like her outfits she has, the colors they are or even her face, skin tone or hair. So it really wouldn't be too fun for me to do. (Of course no offense torwards your character or yourself.)

I did have a decent idea though, if anyone wants to use it.. Your Mesmer wearing the full Fissure (Which you've opted not to get.), but you've decided to get a picture of your Mesmer instead. So, like in the old times if you got a picture of yourself in something, it would be thought in the future that you actually had it. I was just thinking something along the lines of "For the Fissure you couldn't have." In one of the classic thinking poses, if that makes any sense.

Anyways, I wouldn't have time to do it regardless of the above reasons. A little over a week for something like that would be hard, but ah.. With my life right now, it'd be impossible.

I'd actually suggest changing the gold ammounts for winners though. I'd do it something more like this..

1st - 300k
2nd - 150k
3rd -50k
4th - 8k
5th - 2k

But eh.. I'd actually not give out any prizes if you wern't honestly satisfied with the art that was done. Maybe extend the contest if something like that arises, since I don't suppose it really matters seeing as to how you arn't saving for Nightfall, have nothing to spend it on anyways and theres a lot of time to blow before the release of that.

I don't want to change the contest prizes to make the grand prize larger. That would just make me feel bad for the other winners who also deserve a moderate amount of gold.

If I could be given more time, I'd definately come up with at least a b&w version. I just found out about this not too long ago and I know I could turn out something killer. I just haven't had the time.

Well, if the other people entering the contest doesn't mind, I could extend the end date for the contest.

Depends on what you mean with "more time" though. If you mean one week or so, that's not bad. If you mean a month, then that's more bad.

I'm definately cool with at least a week extension. Like I said, I plan on doing this anyway, but if I can get prizes for it, and I have enough time to give it some real quality, then I'm all for it!

Yeah, I was thinking of something like a week. A month would've been too much to ask for.

I'm withdrawing the other one, consider this one as my main entry - 100% from scratch, no previous image used (except the background)

Alright, I'll extend the end date with a little more than a week. The new end date will be 1st of October. I'll use the extra time to go on a item scavenger hunt and see if I can sell stuff to increase the contest prizes a bit more.

Looks good. Although I think the character clashes in with the background a bit too much. The skin colour could also have been better.

Well made her have a more fleshy skintone now and adjusted the background to get a more magical/mesmerising feel to the whole thing. I took some artistic licence with the necklace and leggings. (updated previous post instead of posting it again, you might need to clear out your browser cache to see the new one)

Here is my uncolored version. I don't have a tablet for my PC, so I'm going to color everything with my nice art pencils and markers (using a mouse will take forever). I have this technique to make things look like velvet using marker and pencil, so I'll be using that. Hope you like it!

No no. I drew this with pencil and then went over it with pen. The only thing that I did with the computer was scan it in. However, I have done drawings with the mouse that did come out really nice.

<.<
Though I'd enter this contest, even though I suck at drawing. And colouring in. And detail...

Oh, and I suck at drawing people, so I just drew the warthog -.-
I don't expect this to win *any* prize. Well, maybe last.

*sigh*
Enjoy

Well, this managed to catch my attention (I've got a thing for mesmers >_>). Most of the other posts so far have seen Sanra looking rather prim and proper, I thought I'd give her a chance to let loose a little

Black and white sketch: (maybe it's just me, but I prefer B&W sketches to the full colour versions most of the time :P )

With a splash of colour:

[Edit: Oh, and for those wondering, the piece was done in photoshop, with a graphics tablet ^_^ )
